1. HOME EMPLOYEES

What has happened?

  • Allity’s current owners have agreed to sell the business to Bolton Clarke – one of Australia’s largest independent, not-for-profit providers of home care, retirement living and residential aged care services
  • The transfer of ownership is scheduled to complete at the end of February 2022

Why is Allity being sold?

  • Allity is owned by Archer Capital an Australian investment fund. As such a change in ownership has always been planned at the appropriate time.
  • Since the acquisition of the original Lend Lease Prime life business in 2013 and subsequent addition of ECH’s South Australian homes in 2014, Archer has focussed on the delivery of high quality care and sustainable commercial outcomes as the foundation for building a strong business.
  • With the ongoing changes to the aged care environment it is important that providers continue to adapt in order to meet the demands of an ageing population.
  • The time has now come after nine years of building a strong reputation in the aged care industry for Allity to take the next step on its journey.

Who is the company that is taking over?

  • Bolton Clarke is one of Australia's largest not-for-profit providers offering services across the continuum of care. They own and operate 33 retirement villages and 27 residential aged care communities as well as Australia’s largest home care business delivering services to over 110,000 clients.
  • Bolton Clarke began as RSL Care in Queensland and the Royal District Nursing Service in Victoria and came together as one organisation in 2015.
  • Bolton Clarke recognises two leaders from the organisation’s history who saw how they could help people in need - Brigadier William Kinsey Bolton and Lady Janet Clarke. Their values continue to shape the organisation today.
  • Bolton Clarke and Allity are a strong fit in terms of culture, with a shared commitment to providing the highest quality care and lifestyle services to senior Australians

What does the sale outcome look like?

  • Bolton Clarke plans to leverage Allity’s management structure and depth of operational expertise in residential aged care and bring this to their residential aged care communities, complemented by their broader services.
  • The enlarged residential aged care business will then operate within the wider Bolton Clarke group, developing strong relationships with its home care and retirement living divisions

What will the impact of the sale be on our Homes?

  • There will be very little change in the way Allity homes are run. The current operating structure led by Glen Hurley and the team will remain in place.
  • Things will largely remain the same, with the additional benefit that comes from being part of a larger group.
  • Residential aged care operations will continue to be run out of Sydney with support from Allity Services in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
